Software Is Dead
Hard to believe
Right. The world is driven by software and innumerable industries have profited
handsomely because of it. It reallydoesn’t feel dead! It seems alive and
growing. Sadly, it’s dead . . . at least as once most people knew it. It’s a
true fact and no matter how much we try to get around it sooner or later we
have to accept this. With Web 2.0 and pervasive computing came on strong, we saw
a completely different generation of software. It was delivered via the
Internet and looked exactly like it’s residing on each user’s computing device
. . . but it really resided on a far-away server. On the other hand, Web 3.0
shall bring on Semantic Web, Artificial Intelligence, 3D Graphics, Connectivity
and Ubiquity.
Today’s software
is like a Phoenix reborn out of the ashes of its predecessor. But this was not
all of a sudden. The things that led to this were slow yet very impactful on the
future of Software Developers as a whole. The old-school view of software has come
to an end. In days past simply preparing for worst case scenarios and manually
testing them out were the only concerns any developer or tester had to consider
while developing any software. The requirements from software have skyrocketed
in the recent years. And Automated Build and Testing Toolsare just some of the positive
steps towards meeting these needs.
Speaking of
Automated Testing Tools currently the one that getsmost heads to turn is the
Selenium Web Driver. Not because of just being Open Source and Free. But
because of its simplicity in use and wide range of possible uses in testing web
and mobile applications all the same.Selenium is a portable software-testing
framework for web applications.Itis a suite of tools to automate web browsers across
many platforms. WebDriver is the name of the key interface against which tests
should be written in Java. It is a web automation framework that allows you to
execute your tests against different browsers, not just Firefox (unlike
Selenium IDE).
Other than the
Selenium Web Driver TestNG,JUnit,Cucumber,DevOPs are some of the most used softwaretesting
tools out there. JUnit is a unit testing framework for the Java programming
language. JUnit has been important in the development of test-driven development,
and is one of the best testing frameworks for Android. And more and more of
such Automated Software Testing Tools are just coming up nearly every day in
the market. Most of these Software Testing Tools work their magic on web as
well as mobile applications therefore increasing their reliability and
usefulness.
But Software
Testing can be extremely difficult to learn. With Manual Testing having nearly
become extinct the increasing demand for Software Testers has led to rise in
importance of Software Testing Training. Now in the field of Software Testing we
have numerous companies who offer software testing courses. Asterix Solutions being one of the
best Training Institutions in Mumbai has the most simplistic Software
Testing Training which provides any with the upper hand in the Professional
industry. The 50 plus hours of professional training is filled with a hundred
percent of practical based learning which is more than enough for any beginner
in Software Testing.
